The Cabinet has approved the setting up of a Trust Fund to care for  33 children who have been affected by the Easter attacks and to secure their future.

The Treasury has already allocated Rs. 100 million for this purpose and the fund is expected to receive over Rs. 300 million through external grants.

In addition, the children will also be provided with assistance through the Office of Reparation.

Further, the Ministry of Health had also made arrangements to provide overseas treatment to those who are currently in need of that.

Steps have been taken to pay compensation for the damaged property in several areas such as Minuwangoda, Kuliyapitiya, and Hettipola following Communal attacks.

The Office of Reparation has been advised to pay an advance to commence most business until the full compensation is paid.
