Forty-four suspects who were arrested over the terror attacks on 21 April have been handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further questioning, Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekara said.
Briefing the media on the current status of investigations into lats Sunday’s spate of suicide bombings, SP Guansekara said that another 15 individuals are being currently being held in custody of the Terrorism Investigation Division (TID).
He further said that four out of six suspects who were wanted by the CID have been arrested by now. The other two suspects are believed to be dead.
More than 100 suspects were arrested during past few days in raids carried out island-wide over the horrific Islamist terror attacks on 21 April.
