The Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) has lifted the restrictions on permitting visitors to its arrival and departure concourses (lobbies) with effect from 12 pm today (10).

The BIA said in a statement that visitors who wish to receive or send off their loved ones or commercial passengers are now permitted for a maximum of three hours in the lobby upon purchasing an entry ticket.

The number of visitors will be limited to two and are advised not to bring bags or parcels into the terminal due to security measures currently in place.

The lobby was closed for visitors after the 21 April after Easter Sunday attacks in order to ensure the security of passengers arriving and departing the BIA.
