Sri Lankan Consul General in Toronto calls on Ontario Lt Governor
The Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, Canada Elizabeth Dowdeswell has said that she admired the achievements and various volunteer contributions of Sri Lankans
These remarks were made when Kapila Jayawardana, the Consul General of Sri Lanka in Toronto paid a courtesy call on Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, l at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario last week, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Jayawardana recalled the Canadian support for socio-economic development in Sri Lanka during the past few decades whilst exchanging views on the well-being of the Sri Lankans who live in the Greater Toronto Area and its suburbs.
Dowdswell briefed the Consul General on the multicultural environment in Canada and on the educational and other opportunities that are available for Sri Lankan Canadians.
