Pakistani Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi arrived in Sri Lanka last night for an official two-day visit. Qureshi is expected to call on President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa today.
He was received by Additional Secretary Bilateral Affairs (East) of the Ministry of Foreign Relations Ambassador P. Selvaraj and other officials at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) last night.
The Pakistani Foreign Minister met his Sri Lankan counterpart Dinesh Gunawardena earlier today. No details have emerged on the contents of the discussion between the two ministers yet.
During his visit, Qureshi will also deliver a message of felicitation to the newly elected Sri Lankan president.
