Italian and Norwegian envoys called on President Gotabaya Rajapaksa yesterday at the Presidential Secretariat, the President’s Media Division (PMD) said.
Italy’s Ambassador to Sri Lanka Rita Giuliana Mannella upon meeting Rajapaksa congratulated him on behalf of the Italian Government. She also conveyed to the President her government’s expectation to work in wider cooperation with Sri Lanka moving ahead with a new vision, the PMD said.
According to the PMD, Mannella further expressed her confidence that Sri Lanka will forge ahead in every sphere including socio-economic development and pledged Italy’s fullest cooperation in making those plans a success.
A Norwegian delegation led by Ambassador Trine Jøranli Eskedal also met the President yesterday.
The delegation extended the good wishes of the Norwegian Government to the President and pledged the country’s fullest support to the President, the PMD added.
