The National Child Protection Authority (NCPA) has asked the Government to implement a programme to regulate all private educational institutions, including private tuition classes.
The Archbishop of Colombo Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith has decided to re-open private Catholic schools across the country on May 14.
All schools except Catholic schools will re-open on Monday, 6 May, as previously re-scheduled, Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said.
