The Chairman of Avant Guard Nissanka Senadhipathy was remanded until November 8 today by the Special trial-at-Bar after he was arrested on arrival at the Bandaranaike International airport this morning and produced in court.
CID detectives nabbed Senadhipathy as he arrived from Singapore, where he has been receiving treatment.
Police say he was arrested on a warrant issued by the Galle Magistrate.
He was produced before the three-member court by the CID.
Senadhipathy is facing charges for maintaining an illegal floating armory.
The three judge bench comprises Dhammika Ganepola, Aditya Patabendi and Manjula Tillekeratne.
